How companies can plan and manage corporate group accommodation for teams staying 30 nights or longer, including procurement and extensions.
A corporate group staying for 30 nights or longer presents unique accommodation challenges. It is not simply a large hotel reservation.
It is a long-term operational requirement involving employees, budgets, property availability and accommodation management.
Examples include construction teams, IT project teams, consultants, engineers, hotel employees, relocation groups, corporate trainees, and international employees.
A company should define: group size (e.g. 20 employees), duration (e.g. 90 nights), destination (e.g. Dubai), preferred area (e.g. Business Bay), accommodation type (e.g. studio/one-bedroom), monthly budget, and required facilities (e.g. Wi-Fi, housekeeping, parking). This information creates a professional accommodation brief.
Large companies should consider accommodation procurement rather than individual bookings. Procurement teams can compare multiple properties based on total cost, location, quality, availability, services, and contract flexibility.
Long projects often change. A project planned for 60 days may become 90 or 120 days. Therefore, companies should ask about extension availability before confirming accommodation.
China's major commercial hubs — Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Chengdu, and Hong Kong — have fast-growing demand for long-stay corporate accommodation as multinational companies expand teams, relocate staff, and run extended projects across the region.
Companies sourcing accommodation in China should compare monthly serviced-apartment rates, proximity to business districts (e.g. Shanghai's Lujiazui and Jing'an, Shenzhen's Futian and Nanshan, Beijing's Chaoyang and Haidian), and whether bulk or group rates are available for teams of 10, 50, or 100+ employees.
Corporate group accommodation for 30+ nights requires planning and centralised management, whether the team is deployed in Dubai, India, China, or anywhere else. Businesses can improve efficiency by treating accommodation as a long-term corporate requirement rather than a collection of individual hotel reservations.
