How companies can source competitive monthly hotel rates and long-stay corporate pricing for employees and business travellers.
Traditional hotel pricing is usually designed around nightly stays. However, companies requiring accommodation for 30 nights or more have different needs.
A monthly hotel booking can be more suitable for employees, consultants and project teams.
A monthly hotel booking generally refers to accommodation arranged for approximately 30 nights or more. Depending on the property, the accommodation may be a hotel room, studio, serviced apartment, one-bedroom apartment, or two-bedroom apartment.
Monthly pricing makes accommodation budgeting easier. A company can calculate: number of employees × monthly accommodation cost × number of months. This provides greater visibility into project expenses.
Companies should provide hotels with complete information: number of units, stay duration, location, room category, number of occupants, and required services. Hotels are more likely to provide an appropriate long-stay proposal when the requirement is clear.
Suppose an employee stays for 90 nights. Booking three separate 30-night periods or negotiating a long-term arrangement may produce different pricing and conditions than booking individual nights. Therefore, companies should always ask: "Do you offer a monthly or long-stay corporate rate?"
Dubai has a large market for monthly hotel rooms and serviced apartments. Companies should compare properties according to total monthly cost and included services.
China's major commercial hubs — Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Chengdu, and Hong Kong — have fast-growing demand for long-stay corporate accommodation as multinational companies expand teams, relocate staff, and run extended projects across the region.
Companies sourcing accommodation in China should compare monthly serviced-apartment rates, proximity to business districts (e.g. Shanghai's Lujiazui and Jing'an, Shenzhen's Futian and Nanshan, Beijing's Chaoyang and Haidian), and whether bulk or group rates are available for teams of 10, 50, or 100+ employees.
Monthly hotel booking can provide companies with a more structured solution for extended employee accommodation. For stays of 30 nights or longer, businesses should actively compare long-stay rates instead of relying only on standard nightly pricing — in Dubai, India, China, or any other market.
